Ben 10 Alien Swarm is an upcoming live-action movie coming November 25, 2009 based on the animated series Ben 10 Evolution. It is the sequel to the 2007 live-action movie Ben 10 Race Against Time.
The movie is produced and directed by Alex Winter once again and written by John Turman and James Krieg. The cast were revealed throughout the Ben 10 Week towards the end of March 2009 in special commercials that can be viewed on the movie website and on the Turner Newsroom. A teaser shown during the premiere of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
According to the current website, Ben 10 Alien Swarm is rated TV-PG V. It will be released on DVD and B-Ray six days after the TV premiere of the film.
The storyline of the television movie follows Ben as he makes the tough and somewhat contentious decision to break ranks with his fellow Plumber allies in order to help a friend in need. A mysterious girl in her own right, Elena, a long-time friend of Ben’s, hints at an oncoming alien threat to the Earth. As such, Ben Tennyson, along with Gwen and Kevin, lend their super powered instincts to help Elena in her mission to find her missing father, Validus.
More of the plot had been revealed during the weeks that await the release of the movie in November. Every movie that premiered on Cartoon Network in November, before the release of the movie, gave a sneak peek of Alien Swarm. The latest, and longest, sneak peek was shown right after the premiere of Ed, Edd n Eddy’s Big Picture Show.
It revealed that most black market dealers hadn’t known that Kevin was working with Ben and Gwen. It was also revealed that Kevin’s voice changes heavily when he absorbs objects, unlike the series when his voice is barely affected. It is also shown that in the movie, transformations no longer show Ben flashing green. Now, the transformations are seen how everyone but Ben sees them.
When Ben hears about an alien threat to Earth, he makes the tough and somewhat difficult decision to break ranks with his fellow Plumber allies to help a friend in need. Armed with a new Omnitrix, and together with Gwen and Kevin, the trio lend their super powered instincts to help a mysterious new girl Elena in her mission to find her missing father.
Ryan Kelley, Cartoon Network’s up and coming star plays the role of Ben Tennyson in the movie. He is armed with the Omnitrix, which can transform into 10 different aliens.
Kelley, 23, recently starred in “Prayers for Bobby,” Lifetime’s critically acclaimed and Emmy-nominated movie about Bobby Griffith, a teenage boy who commits suicide due to his family religious intolerance.
He has also appeared in several films including “Cold Case,” “Women’s Murder Club” and “Ghost Whisperer.” As a teen actor, he also had recurring stint on television shows: “Smallville” and “Boston Legal.”
As well as the movie, ben10 toys are also in big demand by the kids for christmas. And one of the most popular is the DX Action Cruiser, from the Alien Force range of Ben10 Toys which is predicted to be one of the top dozen for 2009.
